Breast Augmentation

INDICATIONS for Breast Augmentation/Breast Implants Schenectady -Albany NY
A desire to alter breast size throught the use of Breast Implants.

SURGERY
The operation involves placement of a saline implant beneath the breast and/or chest wall muscles. Time 1-2 hrs.

LOCATION

TRADE OFFS of Breast Augmentation 
There is mild surgical discomfort, bruising, swelling, and nipple sensitivity for about 2 weeks after surgery. Alterations in nipple sensitivity may occasionally last longer. Mammography after breast augmentation/ Breast Implants requires special techniques.

RISKS of Breast Augmentation/Breast Implants
Breast Implants cannot be considered permanent surgical devices and it may be necessary to remove or replace them in response to problems such as: deflation, capsular contracture (scarring with hardness and tightness around the implant), bleeding, or infection. The availability of saline implants for breast augmentation is unrestricted however you should ask your physician about any recent FDA decisions.

RECOVERY
Our patients wear a supporting bra for 3-4 weeks to encourage good wound healing and minimize complications. Most patients return to work 2-3 days following surgery and their normal exercise routine at 4 weeks. Scar maturation occurs in 18-24 months.
